Frederiksdorp is an atmospheric plantation resort at the heart of the Commewijne River with its own Museum and educational slavery trail. The area is rich in history, culture & nature with surrounding plantations, fishing villages, museums, wild beaches, mangrove forests, wetlands, bird swamps, dolphins and sea turtles.

BONI TRAIL
In 2022, Frederiksdorp launched the first educational and historical slavery trail in Suriname– the Boni Trail. The trail follows the life of the of the legendary 18th century freedom fighter Boni and reclaims the narrative from Suriname’s long history of slavery from the battle for freedom and the heroes that stood at the front.
