About this tour

Plantation Kroonenburg is a former coffee plantation that was established around 1745 by Reverend Johannes van der Gaegh. The plantation was therefore often called Domini, which is derived from the dutch word Dominee, meaning Referend..Nowadays, the plantation is still in use, but mainly produces fruit and vegetables for the local market. Surplant NV is located on the plantation, a company that specializes in producing plant extracts. From Frederiksdorp, it is possible to visit the plantation by bicycle. Along the way you will pass various old bridges, sluices and canals while an experienced guide tells you about the impressive history and the different cultures in the village and its surrounding plantations.
