About this tour

For the true nature lover/ avid bird lover, Frederiksdorp at dawn is a true paradise. Take your chance to enjoy the bird wealth of the plantation during our early morning bird walk. During this unique tour we set out to see various herons, graceful swallows, parrots flying overhead, graceful jacanas (also called ‘Christ birds’ because they can walk on water) and much more. Our experienced guides are ready to tell you all about the birds we will see, their habits, as well as their unique features. Learn about the large black vultures that wake up in the mangrove along the river, but also the cute cotton bird that searches for small fish along the water. The tour starts at 7:30 and ends at the breakfast buffet. The bird walk follows the walking trails of the estate and is accessible to everyone. The distance is about 500 meters long and the tour takes about 40 minutes.
