About this tour
The fishing village of Johan and Margaretha is a former coffee plantation that was established by Johan Friederich Knƶffel, also the owner of the Frederiksdorp plantation. At Margaretha, you will get the chance to connect with the local people and learn about their cultures and colorful traditions. Treat your taste buds at Robby Jewlal’s Indian restaurant, have a cold beer with friendly locals at the local shop overlooking the river, take part in a cooking workshop from Mrs Dipai who will teach you how to make the most delicious rotis, or get into small fishing boats to explore the daring wetlands and pristine wild coast, that hide a world of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish and birds.
