About this tour
Peperpot is one of the oldest plantations in Suriname. At the end of the 17th century, settlers had already started growing tobacco here, later coffee and cocoa were added. From the canals, which still run through the plantation forest, the coffee was sailed to the pond. The current residents of the site have planted vegetable gardens between the brick sluices. On the property, the 3.2-kilometer walkways lead to the various historic buildings of the former plantation. From Frederiksdorp you can book a tour to visit Plantation Peperpot as well as Peperpot Nature Park.
