About this tour
After a short bike ride from Frederiksdorp to the small village of Margaretha, you step into a wooden fishing boat with a local guide. Together, you travel through the quiet wetlands and enjoy the peaceful nature around you. The guide tells you stories about the area, the animals, and the special plants that grow there. You might see bright red ibises, tall herons, and with some luck, otters, swamp deer, ocelots, or even a jaguar. During the trip, you stop at a dam, where you get out and help pull the boat across. Itās a simple but fun adventure where you learn more about Surinameās nature and culture.
